Person-centered therapy, also known as Rogerian therapy, is a client-based form of therapy that empowers the client to take ownership of their mental well-being. It shifts the focus from the mental health professional to the client and allows them to have control of the therapeutic process. Person-centered therapy provides a safe space for clients to become more self-aware and find their own solutions.

Person-centered therapy can be helpful for various types of mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and more.

Positive psychology is a branch of psychology focused on the character strengths and behaviors that allow individuals to build a life of meaning and purpose to move beyond surviving to flourishing.

positive psychology is a scientific approach to studying human thoughts, feelings, and behavior, with a focus on strengths instead of weaknesses, building the good in life instead of repairing the bad, and taking the lives of average people up to “great” instead of focusing solely on moving those who are struggling up to “normal” (Peterson, 2008).

Positive psychology focuses on the positive events and influences in life, including:
1. Positive experiences (like happiness, joy, inspiration, and love).
2. Positive states and traits (like gratitude, resilience, and compassion).
3. Positive institutions (applying positive principles within entire organizations and institutions).

As a field, positive psychology spends much of its time thinking about topics like character strengths, optimism, life satisfaction, happiness, wellbeing, gratitude, compassion (as well as self-compassion), self-esteem and self-confidence, hope, and elevation.

These topics are studied in order to learn how to help people flourish and live their best lives

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors can influence a person’s quality of life. CBT is most commonly used to treat anxiety and depression and other mental health issues.

CBT is based on a model of the relationships between cognition, emotion, and behavior. It emphasizes three aspects of cognition: automatic thoughts, cognitive distortions, and underlying beliefs or schemas. CBT can help people manage their problems by changing the way they think and behave.

CBT generally focuses on specific problems using a goal-oriented approach. It emphasizes collaboration and active participation, and teamwork is encouraged throughout the sessions.

Transactional Analysis is a form of psychotherapy that was developed by psychiatrist Eric Berne in the late 1950s and afterward. It looks at how we speak and respond to others, and at the roles we play. Its goal is to improve these interactions so they become healthy and balanced. In observing human transactions, Dr Berne identified three ego states, or roles, that everyone has: the Child, the Parent, and the Adult.

1. The Child state is when we go back to feelings and actions that we would have engaged in when we were children. This state isn’t always negative. According to Berne, our creativity, spontaneous actions, and wonder come from here. But it’s also the home of other actions and feelings – like sulking, brooding, pouting, showing displeasure, or sudden anger.

2. The Parent state is when we play, often unconsciously, a “parent type” role – we imitate what our parents would have done in a situation. These can be things like criticizing, scolding, advising, nurturing, and caring actions.

3. The Adult state is the most objective of the three. It’s stable, reasonable, and able to observe what’s going on in the moment to make a rational decision. The goal of Transactional Analysis is to help people understand that each role has its place and importance, but that, in most situations, people should play the Adult role.

Using Transactional Analysis

To make the most of Transactional Analysis, analyze which roles you and your colleagues play. Try to be aware of this in all of your interactions, but particularly in any situation where communication is difficult.

Once you understand the roles, you can judge whether this makes your interaction a complementary or crossed transaction. You can then determine whether there’s a risk that you’re leading each other in the wrong direction (Child-Child complementary transactions) or responding inappropriately (when you’re being a Child, or even a Parent, in a crossed transaction). When you pay extra attention to what you say, you’re better able to respond as an Adult.

It’s also important to recognize when someone else is playing a game. There are so many different types of games that we can’t cover them all here, but you can find more examples in Dr Berne’s book “Games People Play.”

Refusing to play games with others is a way to separate yourself from the unpleasant consequences of those games – and establish yourself in the role of a rational Adult.
Refusing to play can also have a powerful impact on the initiators of the games. They may become depressed, angry, confused, or frustrated – and they might even increase their efforts to involve you. Without your validation and acceptance, however, they often don’t know what to do. If you remain firm and act as the Adult, they might follow your lead.

Mindfulness practices can help you become more aware of the present moment and separate yourself from overwhelming thoughts or emotions. They can be practiced during meditation or incorporated into everyday activities. Here are some examples of mindfulness approaches:

Mindful breathing
Focus on your breath as you inhale and exhale slowly and deeply, while sitting comfortably. This can help calm your mind and body, and activate your body’s “rest and digest” system.

Body scan
A type of mindfulness meditation that involves systematically paying attention to different regions of your body with an open and affectionate mind.

Mindful eating
Become more aware of your food experiences, emotions, and sensations to help you eat more balanced meals that are both emotionally and physically satisfying.

Journaling
Writing down your thoughts each day can help you be more aware of your surroundings and bring you back to the present moment.

Mindful stretching
Focus on your breath while stretching your body for a few minutes. This can improve your mindfulness at work and have many physical and psychological health benefits.

Yoga
Focus on your breath and the present moment to help ground yourself and ease anxiety.

Expressing gratitude
Practicing gratitude is an example of mindfulness without judgment

Your body is giving you information all the time. Your body is like the cat’s whiskers, it is here to give you information and help you navigate this reality. Your body speaks in soft energetic whispers. When your body can’t get your attention, it turns up the volume. When you continue to ignore your body, it eventually starts screaming. We often interpret that screaming as pain or other discomfort.

Neuro linguistic programming (NLP) is a psychological approach that involves analyzing strategies used by successful individuals and applying them to reach a personal goal. It relates thoughts, language, and patterns of behavior learned through experience to specific outcomes.
Proponents of NLP assume all human action is positive. Therefore, if a plan fails or the unexpected happens, the experience is neither good nor bad—it simply presents more useful information.

NEURO-LINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING IN THERAPY

A core concept of NLP can be summarized by the saying, “The map is not the territory,” because it highlights the differences between belief and reality. It points out that each person operates within their own perspective rather than from a place of objectivity. Proponents of NLP believe everyone’s perception of the world is distorted, limited, and unique. A therapist who practices NLP must therefore understand how a person in treatment perceives their “map” and the effect this perception may have on that person’s thoughts and behavior.
An individual’s map of the world is formed from data received through the senses. This information can be auditory, visual, factory, gustatory, or kinesthetic. NLP practitioners believe this information differs individually in terms of quality and importance, and that each person processes experiences using a primary representational system (PRS).
NLP therapists work with people to understand their thinking and behavioral patterns, emotional state, and aspirations. By examining a person’s map, the therapist can help them find and strengthen the skills that serve them best and assist them in developing new strategies to replace unproductive ones. This process can help individuals in therapy reach treatment goals.
. NLP also seeks to build effective communication between conscious and unconscious mental processes to help people increase creativity and problem-solving skills.

Light Keys healing system is a self-healing modality that helps the individuals to heal their body, life and being. The system consists of a set of high vibrational keys, practices, protocols, processes and frequencies. This system is channelled by Nirmala Raju (Also known as Nila or Nimi)

Reiki is a type of energy healing. According to practitioners, energy can stagnate in the body where there has been physical injury or even emotional pain. In time, these energy blocks can cause illness. Energy medicine aims to help the flow of energy and remove blocks in a similar way to acupuncture or acupressure.

Reiki is linked to a range of physical and emotional health benefits, including better sleep, improved mood, and pain relief in published studies. Research suggests Reiki helps the body return to a state of relaxation, which allows it to potentially better heal from damage brought on by stress, injury, or disease.

Tibetian sound healing

Well-being of body mind n spirit and chakra balancing with Tibetian singing bowls

How Tibetan singing bowls affect our body

Sound therapy with Tibetan singing bowls is an ancient form of regeneration. The first bowls were made from an alloy of various metals and were used already 6000 years ago in the Far East. Tibetan singing bowls area a mysterious acoustic phenomenon, which was discovered by “spiritual tourists” in the Himalayas and after the Chinese invasion of Tibet appeared also in Europe and the USA.
The sound of Tibetan singing bowls and the gong harmonizes and allows deep relaxation of both sides of the brain. It stimulates stress relief on all levels and the elimination of toxins from the body. After sound therapy emotions are calm and the mind clearer, and the sound vibrations have effect on the body after the singing bowls have been played on it.

After sound therapy we are tuned again …
The bowl sings ”ommmmm”, which revives the basic DNA codes and activates the codes that we haven’t yet perceived or we had suppressed till now. Tibetan singing bowls are one of the strongest musical instruments for healing with sound therapy and vibrations. They are called singing bowls because their exotic sound continues to float for a long time after we have played on them.

Why are these bowls so special?

Tibetan bowls are forged with alloys that usually contain from five to seven precious metals, which are connected to the planets of our galaxy: lead (Saturn), tin (Jupiter), iron (Mars), copper (Venus), mercury (Mercury), silver (the Moon) and gold (the Sun). The size of the bowl and the ratio between the metals affect the tone, vibration and quality of sound produced by the bowl. Bowls vary in shapes and looks as they are used for sound therapy in different ways and with different accessories. The most commonly used accessory are the so called “strikers”, which are used to strike to bowls, or wooden mallets which are rotated around the rim of the bowl.

How does sound affect our body?

The sound is undoubtedly one of the most powerful media, as it can take the human spirit in different states of consciousness.
Besides their traditional use for meditation, Tibetan singing bowls are used for deep relaxation and muscle regeneration, to relieve pain in the joints, muscles and shoulders, to ease pain related to sciatica, the digestive system, headaches and migraine or spine injuries, to improve circulation, release tensions or blockages, to open the energy flow, eliminate the toxins from the body. When we relax with the sounds of Tibetan bowls or the gong, our concentration improves and our emotional tensions and blockages are eased. The sound with its vibrations can ease mental or emotional pain (low self-esteem, worries, fear, anger, anxiety, depression, insomnia). Tibetan singing bowls and their unique tones are used to stabilise blood pressure, to ease asthma related issues, to renew the functioning of the adrenal gland, to open and stabilise the meridians and to improve the synaptic responses in our brain. They also help children with hyperactive disorders and they stimulate the immune system.

Bach flower remedies are an alternative or complementary treatment that is used for emotional problems and pain. They’re made out of watered-down extracts from the flowers of wild plants. Edward Bach, a medical doctor and homeopath, created these remedies in the early 1900s. Homeopathy is the belief that the body can cure itself. It uses small amounts of natural substances like plants and minerals to treat the body or mind. The idea behind Bach flower remedies is similar to homeopathy. But they use fewer materials and don’t work directly on physical symptoms, but instead on the emotions. Bach believed that healing negative emotions helps the body heal itself. His system contains 38 remedies that each address a specific negative emotion. The emotions are grouped into seven broad psychological causes of illness:
  • Fear
  • Uncertainty
  • Lack of interest in present circumstances
  • Loneliness
  • Oversensitivity to influences and ideas
